SERVICE DELIVERY CALL CENTRE TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO A REPORTED COVID-19 CASE
SEPTEMBER 16, 2021
The Municipality wishes to inform residents that, due to a reported COVID-19 case, the Service Delivery Call Centre will be temporarily closed until Friday, September 17, 2021, at 18:00.
Before staff can return safely to call centre offices, the premises must be properly fumigated and all other work place COVID-19 protocols followed.
The fumigation team can only assist us tomorrow afternoon therefore, operations at the centre can only resume at 18:00.
During this time, residents can send queries to waterleaks@mandelametro.gov.za or use the Municipal App.
We thank the residents for their patience and cooperation, and we apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
UPDATE ON WATER DISRUPTIONS EXPERIENCED IN LARGE PARTS OF UITENHAGE
The repair was completed last night, and one of the reservoirs was already filling up this morning.
Once the reservoir reaches sufficient capacity, water will be pumped to higher-lying reservoirs serving Scheepershoogte, Valleisig, Winterhoek Park, parts of Fairbridge Heights, Strelitzia Park, Vanes Estate, and Rosedale.
However, there is still a leak where the pipe was repaired, necessitating another shutdown of the pipeline.
We hope that there will be enough time to fill reservoirs in advance.
We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
THE SERVICE DELIVERY CALL CENTRE WILL BE CLOSED TEMPORARILY ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2021, BETWEEN 14H00 AND 18H00 TO ALLOW FOR DECONTAMINATION OF THE PREMISES

The Municipality wishes to inform residents that the Service Delivery Call Centre will be temporarily closed on Friday, September 17, 2021, between 14:00 and 18:00 to allow for decontamination in accordance with COVID-19 work place protocols.
During that time, residents can submit queries via email to waterleaks@mandelametro.gov.za or via the Municipal App.
Operations at the centre are scheduled to resume at 18:00.
We appreciate the residents' patience and cooperation and apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

URGENT ALERT!!!
EMERGENCY WATER SHUTDOWN OF THE CHURCHILL PIPELINE
The Municipality would like to inform residents that a 12 hour shutdown of the Churchill pipeline is required in order to perform critical leak repairs.
The shutdown will commence on Thursday, September 16th, 2021, and water supply is expected to be restored on end of business Thursday, September 16th, 2021.
Storage reservoirs will be filled, however, the City anticipates bulk water supply to be restored prior to storage levels being depleted.
We urge residents to use water only for essential purposes during this period to prevent the depletion of storage levels.
The following areas may experience low pressure or water disruptions:

3. Walmer Heights
4. Mangold Park
5. Glen Hurd
6. Newton Park
7. Greenacres
8. Parts of Cotsworld
9. Parts of Schauderville

The situation will be closely monitored, and water tankers will be made available if reservoir storage levels fall below a certain level.
Water tanker positions will be advertised on the NMBM website and social media pages, and can also be inquired about by calling the Service Delivery Call Centre at 0800 20 5050.

DUE TO A COVID-19 CASE, THE SERVICE DELIVERY CALL CENTRE WILL BE TEMPORARILY CLOSED TODAY AT 14H00.

The Municipality would like to notify residents that the Service Delivery Call Centre will be temporarily closed today at 14H00 due to a reported COVID-19 incident.
The Centre will reopen on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 14H00, after all work place COVID-19 protocols have been met.
Fumigation is scheduled to begin tomorrow at midday.
Service delivery related queries can still be reported via the Municipal App or emailed to waterleaks@mandelametro.gov.za.

At Neave Substation, Transformers 1,2,3,4 tripped affecting Neave Industrial, Livingston, Ferguson, Korsten and surrounding areas.

UPDATE ON THE REPAIR OF THE SUMMIT PIPELINE
The Municipality is pleased to inform residents that the specialised repair on the Summit 1200mm diameter pipeline was completed successfully.
As part of the work, a leaking pipeline joint was repaired using specialist internal repair methods.
All work has been completed on time, and the adhesive is currently curing.
As soon as the adhesive has set to an acceptable standard, the pipeline will be primed.
Residents are encouraged to report all water leaks to the service delivery call centre at 0800 20 50 50, email waterleaks@mandelametro.gov.za or use the Municipal application.

The Municipality wishes to inform residents that a 48-hour shutdown of the Summit pipeline is required in order to perform critical leak repairs.
The shutdown will commence on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, and water supply is expected to be restored on Friday, September 10, 2021.
Storage reservoirs will be filled, but there is a chance that they will be depleted before the water supply is restored. Therefore, we urge residents to use water for essential purposes only during this period.
The following areas may experience low pressure or water disruptions:
1. Connections directly off the Summit pipeline
2. Van Staadens Village
3. Parts of Greenbushes
4. Parts of St. Albans
5. KwaNobuhle
6. Woodridge
The situation will be closely monitored, and water tankers will be made available if reservoir storage levels fall below a certain level.
