URGENT ALERT!!!
UPDATE ON WATER DISRUPTIONS EXPERIENCED IN LARGE PARTS OF UITENHAGE
Teams worked until late last night but were forced to stop due to the rain, which hampered the repair.
There are no surfaced roads up to the repair point, making access extremely difficult, and safety must be taken into account at all times.
The burst is in a very flat area, which lengthens the time it takes to scour the pipe empty.
While the burst section is being cut out on-site, teams are preparing the repair section off-site.
We will continue to work on the repairs throughout the day as long as the weather permits.
To deal with the conditions and avoid further delays, efforts have been made to secure additional staff, plant, and equipment.
It is expected that repairs will continue for the majority of the day, and that water will most likely not be restored until Wednesday morning.
Water tankers have been deployed to the locations below:
1) Corner of Dirk Street & Van Riebeeck Street, Van Riebeeck Hoogte.
2) Daniel Pienaar Road.
3) Sir Thomas Muir Drive, Muir College.
4) Hexrivier Road.
5) Trucks at Logistics park.
6) Trucks roaming high lying areas Rosedale.
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
