MANAGER: HERITAGE

(ARTS AND CULTURE)

POSITION CODE: 190065

TASK Grade 14 (R457 404 – R635 916 per annum)

(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

Qualifications and experience required:

 

  • Appropriate level of relevant tertiary qualification in Heritage Studies.
  • Inherent requirement to perform the functions associated with the post.
  • Three to four years’ experience.

 

Key attributes and competencies:

 

  • Exercise operational supervision.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Report-writing skills.
  • Researching.
  • Planning, organising, conducting, maintaining and analysing the Heritage Services Functions.
  • Financial skills.
  • It would be an advantage to have a Code B Driver’s License.

 

Job purpose:

 

  • Co-ordinating and aligning the key performance areas against the Heritage component, Arts and Culture and priorities through the provision of professional guidance and support
  • Defining and designing programme methodologies, approaches and concepts
  • Analysing and evaluating the adequacy of proposals to meet objectives
  • Managing project outcomes
  • Communicating and/or providing explanations/recommendations based on best practices associated with the arrangement, designing projects and programmes that support the Sub-Directorate and community.

  

As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
