BUDGET AND TREASURY DIRECTORATE

 

HEAD: ACQUISITIONS

(SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

POSITION CODE: 180053

TASK Grade 15 (R514 896 – R715 884 per annum)

(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

 

Qualifications and experience required:

 

  • B. Com Degree or three-year qualification in Supply Chain Management/ Purchasing/ Logistics Management/ Operations Management.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of Local Government Procurement legislation.
  • A valid Code B driver''s licence.
  • At least three years'' experience in the Supply Chain environment.
  • Completion of Competency Unit Standards, as required by Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and Government Gazette No. 29967.

 

Key attributes and competencies:

 

  • Oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.
  • Managerial and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet critical/conflicting deadlines.

 

Job purpose:

 

Managing and controlling the Acquisitions processes that are consistent with policies and laid down requirements encapsulated in the legislative frameworks.

 

As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
