ELECTRICITY INTERRUPTION ON 21 OCTOBER 2018

Residents are advised of a proposed electricity shutdown on SUNDAY, 21 OCTOBER 2018, between the hours of 08h00 and 16h00, in various areas of Nelson Mandela Bay, caused by the temporary shutdown of the College Drive Substation, to allow repairs and maintenance to be carried out on a local transformer.  

Areas affected: Mill Park, St. Georges Park (only end of College Drive Road), Glendinningvale, Greenacres, Scotstown.

Streets affected: Ascot Road, Barris Walk Street, Bradshaw Street, Churchill Road, College Drive, Conyngham Road, Cape Road, Dene Road, Fairford Road, Highbeech Road, Lenox Street, McLean Road, Mill Park Road, Mortimer Road, Nightingale Street, Ramsay Lane, Salisbury Avenue, Wares Road, Way Avenue, Wembley Road, Westview Drive, Woodville Road, Young Road. 

All installations must be treated as live for the duration of the outage. - Apologies are tendered for any inconvenience caused.

                      ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: MANUFACTURING AND RENEWABLE INDUSTRIES

                                        TASK Grade 14 (R427 476 – R594 312 per annum)

Requirements:

  • Three-year National Diploma or B. Degree in Economics/Marketing or related field.
  • Five years’ experience working in a related field.
  • A valid Code B driver’s licence.

Competencies:

  • Strong marketing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Leadership and management skills.

Job purpose:

  • Managing the facilitation and investments attraction programme within the Manufacturing and Automotive sectors.
  • Marketing and promoting Nelson Mandela Bay as a destination for trade and investment to national and international investors.
  • Establishing and developing the cluster programmes for the Manufacturing and Automotive sector.
  • Representing the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality at international, national, provincial, local and departmental pavilions, missions, workshops, conferences, working groups, task teams, etc.
  • Establishing partnerships and relations with foreign missions, international trade advisors and ambassadors locally and internationally.
  • Spearheading the development of key strategic documents to unlock the development of the manufacturing and automotive as well as subsidiary sectors.
  • Analysing information and formulating plans to achieve Manufacturing and Automotive sector development objectives, as set out in the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Economic Growth and Development Strategy (EGDS), Local Economy Development Strategy and Industrial Development Strategy.
