VACANCY

DIRECTOR: PLANNING

(PROJECTS)

POSITION CODE: 7094

TASK Grade 17 (R568 044 – R789 744 per annum)

(Basic salary only, excluding benefits) 

In compliance with the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Employment Equity Plan, preference will be given to suitably qualified African (male/female), Coloured (male/female) and Indian (male/female) applicants. 

Requirements: 

  • B degree (Electrical Engineering).
  • Must be registered as a Professional Engineer/Professional Engineering Technologist (ECSA).
  • Five years’ relevant experience.
  • A valid Code B Driver’s licence. 

Competencies:

 

  • Must be physically fit and able-bodied.
  • Must be able to perform manual operations and duties on foot. Need to carry out construction site visits and inspections of projects.
  • Sight, speech and hearing ability. 

Job purpose: 

Managing and administering the Planning Division with respect to the planning and design of the low, medium and high voltage electrical network of the Municipality in accordance with the budgetary provisions, safety and quality standards in order to meet short, medium and long term requirements. 

As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening,  security   vetting and psychometric assessment.
